About Useful Tools Everywhere

Useful Tools Everywhere is a collection of free calculators for money questions that are annoying to answer by hand — what a refinance actually breaks even at, what an RSU vest leaves you owing in April, what a Korean severance payment works out to, how much of a loan your income supports.

Who builds it

One developer, Younghwi Kim. This site is a personal project, not a company. There is no team behind the byline and no firm standing behind the numbers — which is exactly why every page shows its arithmetic instead of asking you to take a figure on faith.

The same site also serves the support and privacy pages for two iOS apps built by the same developer: BC PNP Score Calculator and K-pop Videos.

How a calculator gets made

Each tool starts from a published rule — a tax bracket, an amortisation formula, a program guide — and the page states the rule it used. Where a figure comes from an official table, the page names the table and the date it took effect, because a tax calculator that does not say which year it is calculating is not answering the question.

When a rate cannot be sourced, the calculator asks you for it rather than guessing. A plausible-looking default that nobody can trace is worse than an empty field: it produces a number that reads as authoritative and is not.

The calculations run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type — income, balances, share prices — reaches a server or is stored.

What these tools are not

They are estimates for planning, not professional advice. Real tax returns, loan approvals and immigration applications turn on details a calculator does not ask about: your other income, your filing status, your lender's specific terms, the exact wording of a program guide on the day you apply. Use these figures to know roughly where you stand and what to ask about — then confirm anything that matters with an accountant, a lender, or the issuing authority.

If a number looks wrong

Tell me. A calculator that is quietly wrong is the worst thing this site can ship, and the fastest way it gets fixed is someone noticing. Reports go to the support form or straight to developer.younghwi@gmail.com.
