Privacy Policy - K-pop Hub

Effective Date: April 1, 2026

Thank you for using K-pop Hub ("we", "us", or "our"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in our iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple User ID and display name. We do not receive your email address unless you choose to share it. Your Apple User ID is used to identify your account and sync your data across sessions.

Playlist Data: Your playlists, including video selections and organization preferences, are stored locally on your device and synced to our servers when you sign in. Published playlists are visible to other users in the Community section.

Usage Data: We collect interaction data such as playlist follows, likes, play counts, and community engagement to power features like the leaderboard and trending content.

Device Information: We collect your device token for push notifications (if you opt in) and basic device information for ad serving purposes.

Crash & Diagnostic Data: Our advertising SDK (Google AdMob) may automatically collect crash logs and performance diagnostics to maintain service stability. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

Account & Sync: To authenticate you and sync your playlists across sessions
Community Features: To enable playlist sharing, following curators, and community engagement
Push Notifications: To notify you about new followers, playlist updates, and community activity (with your permission)
Advertising: To display relevant ads through Google AdMob. We request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission to serve personalized ads
Content Improvement: To curate trending content, leaderboard rankings, and search results

3. Advertising & Tracking

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements including banner ads, native ads, and rewarded ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting and measurement.

On first launch, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized based on your activity across apps. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.

You can change your tracking preference at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

Apple Sign In: Authentication is handled by Apple. We only receive the data you authorize.
Google AdMob: Ad serving and measurement. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
YouTube: We use YouTube's embed player to display videos. Video playback is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): For delivering push notifications to your device.

• Account credentials (JWT tokens) are stored securely in the iOS Keychain
• Playlist data is stored locally with file protection and synced to our secure servers (AWS DynamoDB)
• All network communication uses HTTPS encryption
• We implement rate limiting and input validation to protect against abuse

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Published playlists remain in the Community section unless you unpublish them. You can delete your local data at any time by signing out or deleting the app.
